Where Does That Money Really Come From?

Sometimes in life we start looking to our bosses or jobs as our source. If you work in a church, you might start thinking that the church is your source. But the fact is, everything good thing that we have comes from God. Here are a few key scriptures to remind us who are source really is!

James said… Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. (James 1:17)

Jesus said… Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed? ‘For the Gentiles seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and His righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. (Matthew 6:31-33)

David sang… The Lord is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing. (Psalms 23:1)

Ezra wrote… The eyes of the LORD run back and forth throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him. (2 Chronicles 16:9)

Abraham said… Jehovah-Jireh, the LORD is my provider. As it is said to this day, “In the LORD’s mountain it will be provided. (Genesis 22:14)

Nehemiah said… neither be you grieved; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. (Nehemiah 8:10)

Isaiah wrote… Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, The LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint, neither is weary; there is no searching of His understanding. He gives power to the faint; and to Him who has no might He increases strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: but those who wait for The LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint. (Isaiah 40:28-31)

Jeremiah wrote… Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose trust the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, who spreads out its roots by the river, and shall not fear when heat comes, but its leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. (Jeremiah 17:5-8)

John said… A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given him from heaven. (John 3:27)

Paul wrote… My God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19)

Peter wrote… Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time; casting all your worries on Him, because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:6, 7)

Question: Who are you looking to for your needs? Who is the source of all the good things that you have?

So True Mark, I got this teaching from Earl Pitts Many years ago. It is God Who supplies ALL our needs, He is the one that allows us to have jobs, and it is through our gifting that we are able to exchange our labour for financial gain. Most people do not realise that our labour is an offering to God. Through our work we honour and glorify Him and show the wonderful people on this planet how great our God really is. I could go on and on because I remember so many times asking God where should I Work, and struggled for so many years trying to find the right occupation with the wrong attitude. God is my source of income and even though I work for someone or organization, He is the one that releases the finances through them to me.

most people do not get the full revelation of the source; most people ask God to bless whatever it is they do and not really put Him first. what would people do if they really had no safety net and completely had to rely on God for their need?
I am in this exact situation. i am unable to work due to a medical situation and I am not getting compensation as of yet. at the same time, I believe I am in the centre of God’s will. I have been seeking the kingdom with all my heart and he said he would provide for me. I believe Him at His word and exercise my faith. my testimony will be an amazing one.
phillipians 4:19 was directed at those in that church that were supporting paul. they would have a special blessing for their sponsorship.
