My 10 Favorite Bible Passages On Worship

John ~ I saw a vast crowd, too great to count, from every nation and tribe and people and language, standing in front of the throne and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes and held palm branches in their hands. And they were shouting with a great roar, “Salvation comes from our God who sits on the throne and from the Lamb!”  ~ Revelation 7:9-10 NLT

I love this glimpse into heaven. People from every all over the world standing before God and His Son, Jesus.. worshipping with their whole hearts!

Worship black - white

Paul ~ Be filled with the Holy Spirit, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, and making music to the Lord in your hearts. And give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. ~ Ephesians. 5:18-20 NLT

I love this reminder to be filled with the Spirit of God, to be thankful and sing from our hearts. There is also a good reminder to sing different types and styles of songs.

Paul ~ Dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him. ~ Romans 12:1-2 NLT

God wants us to give everything: to give our whole life and bodies! This is true worship!

Jesus ~ The time is coming—indeed it’s here now—when true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and in truth. The Father is looking for those who will worship Him that way. For God is Spirit, so those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth. ~ John 4:23-24 NLT

I want to be a true worshipper. One who worships from my spirit and one who worships according to the truth of the God’s Word.

Psalmist ~ Praise the Lord! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty heaven! Praise Him for His mighty works; praise His unequaled greatness! Praise Him with a blast of the ram’s horn; praise Him with the lyre and harp! Praise Him with the tambourine and dancing; praise Him with strings and flutes! Praise Him with a clash of cymbals; praise Him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord! ~ Psalms 150 NLT

God loves loud! If you have a blast of a ram’s horn and clanging cymbals, it’s going to be loud! And God loves passion! You’ve got to have passion to get up and dance!

Hezekiah ~ The Lord has chosen you to stand in His presence, to minister to Him, and to lead the people in worship and present offerings to Him. ~ II Chronicles 29:11 NLT

Not everyone is called to lead worship. Has God called you? Are you ministering to Him first?

Mark ~ (After the first Communion)…  Jesus and the disciples sang a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives. ~ Mark 14:22-26 NLT

I love this glimpse into Jesus and the disciples life. It was the last night of Jesus’ life and He and the disciples took time to worship God in song.

Zephaniah ~ For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty Saviour. He will take delight in you with gladness. With His love, He will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.” ~ Zephaniah 3:17 NLT

I love this insight into what God does. He delights in us, calms our fears and sings joyful songs over us.

He Is Mighty To Save

Jeremiah ~ Let us test and examine our ways. Let us turn back to the Lord. Let us lift our hearts and hands to God in heaven… ~ Lamentations 3:40-41 NLT

Let us test and exam our hearts, turn back to the Lord and worship. Great advice!

John ~ I heard the voices of thousands and millions of angels around the throne and of the living beings and the elders.  And they sang in a mighty chorus: Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered—to receive power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.” And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang: “Blessing and honor and glory and power belong to the One sitting on the throne and to the Lamb forever and ever.” And the four living beings said, “Amen!” And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped the Lamb. ~ Revelation 5:11-14 NLT

I love that the angels join us in worship. Have you ever got down on your face and worshipped Jesus?
